ok folks, we're going to try our hand at a few contests.

There are 4 contests running right now and they will end on New Year's Eve... that should give you some time.

Video contest - upload your original video, it can be edited etc. up to 60 seconds long. You can make the video with your camera or a digital camcorder. Edit to your heart's delight, even add sound. BUT, it must be your creation.

Photo contest - give this one some thought and some work. Make sure you submit it to the public album Contests in the Contests category - not your own album.

Space Invaders will be our first game. Whoever is the champ at midnight on New Year's eve wins.

Comics - I know some of you guys are pretty good at this. 420 pixels wide max. Height - no restriction within reason. Can be single cartoon or a comic strip. Bubble text permitted. Entries will be placed in a special forum for voting. Winner goes into the Comics section of the site. (it's new, you'll find it)

Once you enter stuff, make sure you get people in here to vote on it.

First prizes will be a My20 embroidered cap. They're pretty cool actually. Donated to us by Silver Threads Embroidery.

There will be other prizes in the future. Let's just try to get through this first one and work out the tweaks.

Well Poot, if we'd been around a little longer, and I had another 100 high school seniors in here with cars, a car show wouldn't be out of the question. In time perhaps.

Video contests could be cool. Can I use the movies I make on my camera or do I have to use a camcorder?

Poot's right, doesn't matter how you create it. You can even use stills to make a movie. I've made some, they're fun. Don't forget to put sound to them, your own voice, music, overlays etc. But I do recommend starting out simple. There is a lot of free video editing software you can download from the net. Very easy to use. Just try the sample that comes with them first and you'll soon understand it.

Yes it does and it does a very good job believe it or not

Just make sure that whatever music you use is not in violation of any copyright, if you go to the free wav and mp3 download places to get it you should be ok, just make sure you give all credit due, the program has a place to put that info in.
